As it was, I knew enough to not feel lost at all and wouldn’t mind finishing up the series to fill in the holes. Patrick and Angela are likeable characters and I probably would have liked the book even more if I had known their entire backstory. Lehane offers a bravura demonstration of how it’s done.” “ emerged from the whodunit ghetto as a broader and more substantial talent. When it comes to keeping readers exactly where he wants them, Mr.
